A real passion for what I do!

About Aileen

I’ve always had a fascination with all things Mum and Baby and have been working with newly delivered parents for over 20 years now. After I specialized as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse in 1996 my fascination grew deeper and in 1999 I graduated with BSc Hons Degree in Midwifery. Early years of my training, education, and working life were based in London and Sydney and in 2001 I returned home to Ireland. Since my return I’ve predominately worked as a Community Midwife looking after Mums in the antenatal and postnatal disciplines.

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to see first-hand the benefits of yoga and massage. I was first introduced to baby massage as a Neonatal Nurse in 1995 where parents of sick and preterm babies were taught containment holds and massage techniques to quiet and calm their little baby. The effects were immediate and their road to recovery was notably less eventful.

"The importance of Physical and mental Preperation"

I’m a firm believer in preparing for birth which involves both physical and mental preparation. Prenatal Yoga and Natural Birth Preparation Classes empower women for their big day and I see their benefits first hand on a daily basis. Postnatal Yoga, Baby Yoga and Infant Massage Classes are a great way to get fit, get out and about and meet other new parents, and get to know your baby even more. I’ve always had a special interest in breastfeeding and a large part of my day as a Registered Midwife and Lactation Consultant involves supporting new Mums establish lactation.

I love my job and if I were to do it all over again I’d do the same thing!

Testimonials

I have hired Aileen's expertise as a lactation consultant to help me breastfeed my newborn. She is the sweetest and most professional lactation consultant I've met through my breastfeeding journey. If it wasn't for her help, reassurance and support I believe my son wouldn't be where we are now, nearly 9 months on. Thank you!

I attended yoga classes back in 2018 in Castleknock and I had no doubts I wanted to go back during my second pregnancy too. Aileen managed to create a great atmosphere from home during COVID and I was looking forward to switching my computer on every Wednesday to join her and the rest of the group. Aileen is not only an excellent yoga instructor but also a great midwife that supports and gives her advice during the pregnancy. She goes beyond her role as yoga instructor and it is a great reassurance knowing that she is always there to guide you. I found that yoga really benefit my body during the pregnancy, specially with my back pain. Also, it helps your body and mind to get ready for labour. 100% recommended

a year ago Aileen is one in a million. Pregnancy yoga is one of my favourite things about being pregnant. She is so supportive and creates such a relaxed and nurturing environment both in class and online. Aileen’s guidance is priceless and meeting and listening to all the other girls is wonderful. Favourite day of the week!!
